Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T. - January 31st
READING:
This week I f i n a l l y finished “If It Bleeds,” by Stephen King and I really enjoyed it! I say finally finished because I started it back during the summer in preparation for the Life of Chuck film. The nice thing about this book is that it is a collection of 4 novellas (Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, Life of Chuck, If It Bleeds, and Rat) so I was able to finished “If It Bleeds” and “Rat” this week. Rat was a complete trip but I think my favorite in this collection remains Life of Chuck. “I am wonderful, I deserve to be wonderful, and I contain multitudes.”
EATING:
Free pizza from the Saturday basketball game! Free is always a great price.
PLAYING:
I kind of pushed the Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T. a day just so I could include these films. This weekend I was able to watch three of the films from Sundance Film Festival and I am so glad I spent the money to watch them from the comfort of home. The three films I watched were:
Chasing Summer (After losing both her job and boyfriend, Jamie retreats to her small Texas hometown where friends and flings from a fateful high school summer turn her life upside down.) Written by Iliza Shlesinger & directed by Josephine Decker
Union County (Assigned to a county-mandated drug court program, Cody Parsons embarks on the tenuous journey toward recovery amidst the opioid epidemic in rural Ohio.) Written & directed by Adam Meeks.
Rock Springs (Centers on a grieving family who move to a new town after a tragedy, only to find sinister secrets lurking in the woods behind their house.) Written & directed by Vera Miao
OBSESSING:
All the shows that have come back for the season! I have been loving The Rookie, 9-1-1, 9-1-1: Nashville, and The Hunting Party. Oh! School Spirits too!
RECOMMENDING:
ALLOWING YOURSELF BREAKS. I feel like we, as a collective, are very go-go-go and it can be hard to allow ourselves to just slow down for a minute and take a break. If you needed someone to give you permission, this is it. Go take a nap.
TREATING:
I got the the new Valentine’s drink from Dunkin’ and I was a little nervous. It was the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Daydream Refresher and it great! I wasn’t sure how the chocolate cold foam would work with the strawberry refresher but it was right on the money. I also was able to try the Brownie Batter and Cupid’s Choice donuts for the Valentine’s menu.
