Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T. - 1/23/26

READING:

This week I read “The Perfect Son,” by Freida McFadden and started “Cold Storage,” by David Koepp. I have been on a Freida McFadden kick lately and The Perfect Son fell more in the middle for me. I did enjoy it, but it was a little more predictable than some of her other books. I am only a few chapters into Cold Storage and I am excited to see where it goes. I want to be sure to finish it before the movie comes out next month!

EATING:

I have been OBSESSED with Oats Overnight Shakes this week! As I have been busier than usual between coaching academic team, working basketball games, work, other work, arting commissions, etc., these have been a lifesaver. I have been rocking with the chocolate peanut butter, apple cinnamon, and strawberry creme this week. I don’t know why I slept on this product for so long.

PLAYING:

2026 Oscar nominated movies! The 98th Academy Awards nominations dropped on Thursday and I have been shouting to anyone who will listen that Sinners got 16 (!!!) nominations. Over the last few years, I have made a point to watch as many nominated movies before the Oscars (but always make a point of watching all the best picture nominations.

OBSESSING:

Criss-Criss Chair. I have found that I have been much more productive when sitting at my desk when using this chair. With chronic back pain, it is nice to be able to switch up how I am sitting based on what support my back needs. I have the version that doesn’t have the wheels, but those are also available.

RECOMMENDING:

Physical media! I have been spinning vinyl records this week and it has been such a great way to fall back in love with albums. Having to play them front to back without any skips has been a great reminder to s l o w d o w n and enjoy the piece of work in it’s full entirity.

TREATING:

This week I treated myself to a couple of clothing items from the brand Outlier!
